Simply Gorgeous

Kristie and Tom were married on the 23rd October 2010 at Amisfield Winery at Lake Hayes.

Kristies bouquet was designed using the most beautiful and elegant white phaelanopsis orchids, on natural stems with a few accent folded leaves for contrast against her gown.

....rather than holding bouquets, her bridesmaids wore a couple of blooms of orchids attached to diamante wristbands.

... her gorgeous flowergirl also carried a smaller posy of the delicate orchids.

...and a beautiful floral touch to finish off her amazing hairstyle ( thanks to the talented team at Crew Haircutters)

... and of course never to late to mention the groom - I love this image!! Check out Toms very stylish suit!

Stephanie's Stoneridge Estate Wedding

The gorgeous thing about a rainy day is that the photos always turn out AMAZING!
Stephanie was married at Stoneridge Estate on cool winters day in August.
These images from Alpine Image Company Ltd , capture the Medieval styled Stoneridge Lodge in perfect glory with the moody sky and falling raindrops.

www.alpineimages.co.nz

Stephanies bouquet was designed using devine spring hyacinths coupled with dusky pink Something Special roses and silvery grey succulents to add texture.

....the newly weds....

Stoneridge Estate and the fantastic architecture provides the perfect backdrop for unbelievable images.
The venue lends itself to so many different photo opportunities, from the super- sweet honeymoon cottage and quaint chapel to the extensive gardens with stone ruins, the vineyard and ponds and of course the rustic, medieval inspired lodge. Not to mention the picturesque Lake Hayes and looming mountains nestled perfectly in the background.

Stephanies table centrepieces were based on the same colour tonings as her bouquet, but informally arranged in ceramic bowls with garden foliages and frosted tealights surrounding added the perfect amount of accent lighting.

... and then there was snow.....

Heaven Scent....

Thankyou Vanessa and Joseph for sending the beautiful photos of your Wedding at Thurlby Domain on the 20th March 2010. Their reception was held in the garden at Walnut Cottage near Arrowtown.

Extra lovely images again courtesy of Alpine Image Company Ltd http://www.alpineimages.co.nz

Well, now I can admit that nothing really gets a florist on the edge of her seat besides Frangipani! Well, I'm not sure I can say the same for North Island florists, but down here in the south where its too cold for them to grow , we have a very anxious wait for the tender, fragile little blooms to arrive on a courier from the north - a sleepless night and praying the fragile stickers on the box actually mean something to the courier.......
.....and then relief!! The parcel arrives and the fragrant beauties are in prestine condition and aching to be made into something devine!!!

And on the day............................. Vanessa and her frangipani bouquet

Each bloom is indivdually wired to form the bouquet, combined with yellow palm and aspidistra leaves for a tropical appeal and we folded some leaves and placed around the base for support.

A pearl detail was placed in the centre of each bloom to reflect the style of Vanessa's gown.

The boys buttonholes complimented Vanessa's bouquet and were finished with ribbon and pearl pins.

And finally... a nice word from Vanessa -
"I just wanted to thankyou for the amazing job you did on my bouquet of frangipanis, I was so pleased it was exactly what I wanted!! thanks again for everything, Vanessa and Joseph"

Dreamy Queenstown Wedding...................

Thankyou so much Katrina for sending through these GORGEOUS images of your wedding flowers - it was such a pleasure in assisting you, I loved making your floral handbags and your stunning trailing bouquet! -

Stoneridge Estate was a stunning location for Katrinas wedding on the 11th March 2010.

Katrinas bouquet was a wired, trailing style that included freesias, lisianthus, roses and ruscus milano. We have certainly seen an increase in popularity over the last couple of seasons for these beautiful cascading designs.

These delightful little floral handbags were a delicious alternative to a bouquet.

YUM! This cake looks mouthwatering thanks to Sadie @ Truly Scrumptious and the gorgeous Raspberry colour toned floral decorations

Katrina wrote to us with some lovely comments about The Flower Room!
" I highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for any kind of floral arrangements as she is amazing to deal with and her floral artistry is exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was conducted so professionally and exactly as it should be. I was very impressed with every aspect of her business.
We also hired beautiful candelabra and candles from Sarah and she had them delivered to the venue for us and set up. Sarah also provided the floral arrangements for the wedding cake
to match in and also rose petals for the guests to throw over us in a beautiful basket. The whole thing was just so smooth with no hassels and just exactly what a bride would want.
Thankyou Sarah! Really appreciated your attention to detail, superb customer service and your willingness to go the extra mile for us when we were in a fix.
I wish you all the best" - Katrina Weidknecht, USA.

Alexis's Autumn Celebrations

Alexis was married at St Peters Anglican Church in Queenstown to Kerian - in a traditional Scottish ceremony. The reception followed up at Skyline with a beautiful autumn themed dinner utilising candles, autumn toned flowers and foliages.

The Buttonholes were perfectly themed to the autumn style with rosehips, pieris bud and miniature oak leaves.

The bouquets were informally arranged handtied combinations of rich reds, terracottas, greens and a touch of ivory.

We detailed the napkins with oak leaves and brown ribbon and raffia

The table centrepieces include our black wrought iron candelabra with gold candles and adorned with Autumn flowers and foliages

The HUGE cake as made by Daniela at Cake Aventures European Bakery... and decorated by yours truly!

Summer Love Part 1

Well "Love" was certainly in the air this summer .... with being involved with so many weddings it left me little time to blog, so the next few posts will showcase a taste of what we have been busy with over the past season!

Unfortunately I don't have credits for all of these photos - so any photgraphers out there - please let me know if any of these are yours and I will certainly add your credentials!
