Winter Games Gala Dinner - Skyline Restaurant

Not only do we adore styling Weddings, but corporate functions are also our specialty at The Flower Room.

Queenstown was host to the Winter Games last weekend, and 30 table centrepieces were the order of the day for the NZOC Gala Dinner held above Queenstown at the Skyline Gondola Restaurant.

The settings were designed using a reflection mirror as the base. A square ceramic pot placed inside a glass cube gave a 3- dimensional effect to the overall design.

The ice green orchids were devine in a grouping at the base with tall white branches extending from within providing a wintery appeal.

Finished with silver snowflake detail, suspended orchids and of course, silver fern for a NZ influence.

6 tall white branch focal decorations were made on site by The Flower Room team - the clear vases were filled with crushed cellophane and filled with water to replicate ice and the branches were adorned with crystals and faux icicles.

Well done, Alex (Wedding and Event Co-ordinator ) at Touch of Spice, for another fabulous and well planned event!

Spring is here!

Spring " officially" launches the new wedding season and our days are getting busy here at The Flower Room assisting our brides with their floral styling options for up and coming weddings and events.

We have such a huge variety of different styles coming through this season - soft vintage shades and eclectic table centrepieces still proving popular, as well as clean crisp black and white simplicity in true inspiration from "Chanel" style.

I plan to post as many of our real life weddings as possible over the season, so watch this space!

Below is todays wedding of Janet Chen Chow - a truly beautiful day for a spring wedding - the sky was blue, the lake was calm, the veiw was fabulous - anyone looking at wedding venues this season must check out the Icon Room at the Heritage Hotel - the rooftop terrace feels your on top of the world - ideal for ceremony and canapes, and perfect unobstructed veiws of the lake and mountains

The Bridesmaids wore Charcoal and carried simple bouquets of purple tulips with a cuff of ruscus leaves.

In true spring style the Bride carried multi colour freesias - the smell so sweet......
We finished the stems in French tied style with a pearl cluster detail.
Table Setting were vase groupings of staged cymbidium orchids, suspended below water with floating candles and tealight votives for accent lighting.

Check out Janet's very cute miniature cakes!

The view from the terrace at The Heritage Hotel would be very hard to beat -superb!

Watch this space for next weeks weddings!

Her gown had a beautiful soft vintage pink sash that toned perfectly with her bouquet...

These images are stunning!

The beauty of Queenstown in winter sure outweighs the cold! WOW

and the happy couple......

I designed Laura's bouquet using "Something Special" roses - one of my favourites, together with "Vendella" roses and Japonica foliage to finish.

The handle of her bouquet was finished with a pearl cluster detail / vintage brooch style to compliment the gorgeous pearls on her gown.

Chiavari Chairs

The right chair can make such a big difference to your event. For many years in Queenstown we only had access to basic chairs with a throw-over cover, however we are now thrilled to be able to offer these beautiful Chiavari style chairs which are fabulous for indoor and outdoor venues.

The Flower Room is the only stockists of these chairs in Queenstown and we have 120 of them available for hire. We can provide a delivery / set up and collection service for the chairs throughout the Wakatipu, Wanaka and Cromwell areas.

They truly make a setting special - and for added comfort, the hire includes a white padded cushion on each!
Drop us an email if you wish to know more about our chairs!

Wonderful Wakatipu Weather

We can never fully count on our weather being fine here in the Wakatip, so for Carly's wedding in February this year at beautiful Thurlby Domain on Speargrass Flat Rd.... thank goodness for the Stables!!!
The months of planning the outdoor ceremony beside the historic ruins under the ancient trees all went out the window when the rain poured and poured all day long - but nothing was going to stop us from creating a magical setting for Carly within the old Stables located within metres of the originally planned ceremony location.
A few candles nestled amongst the nooks in the stone walls, a carpet runner to save the dress , some petals and of course our lovely Chiavari Chairs all completed the scene and Carly and her guests were overwhelmed with the rustic yet romantic setting.

Our Weddings - Fairytale Wedding in Queenstown

Michael and Maria were married on the 6th June on a beautiful winters day in Queenstown.
We styled Marias flowers with an exquisite combination of roses in dusky pink vintage " Something Special", Deep red " Black Magic" and velvety "Black Beauty".
Maria's bouquet featured pearl detail woven through the flowers and the bridesmaids bouquets were finished with ribbon that was designed and made by Michaels Mum, Kerry.
